Residential Homes

Community Integrated Living arrangements (CILAS) are homes integrated into residential neighborhoods where eligible Individuals have access to onsite support staff, engaging day programs and/or community day services.

Developmental Foundations, Inc., operates 4, 5, 6, and 8 bed homes, with single rooms and rooms with one other roommate, allowing for choice and individualized supports. Residents engage in developmentally appropriate activities based on their expressed goals and objectives. Everyone is encouraged to engage in community stores, events, activities, including special events.

Below you will find a very brief synopsis of the communities where DFI has homes: 

Arcola: 

Offers small town charm partnered with nearby large town and city activities and events. Local Parks, and seasonal celebrations offer residents the opportunity for community gatherings. Unique to this area are several Amish-influenced attractions along with Aikman's Zoo.

Cissna Park:

Offers a charming mix of small-town leisure with a peaceful and safe atmosphere, which can be especially comforting for those who thrive in quieter, more predictable settings. Within a reasonable driving distance, residents can enjoy an array of regional attractions, parks and events.

Champaign-Urbana (C/U):

Offers access to a wide variety of recreational and leisure activities that cater to all interests and age groups. Home to the University of Illinois, C/U hosts local and state sporting events, art festivals, concerts, and a myriad of other cultural and holiday events. In addition, C/U residents enjoy many parks with accessible walking trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas.

Charleston-Mattoon:

Offers numerous outdoor activities and events at local parks, the fairgrounds or in and around Lake Charleston. In the heart of Charleston is Eastern Illinois University, which brings in numerous cultural and sporting events for residents to enjoy. Nearby Mattoon offers family- friendly attractions like Lytle Park, and local farmers' markets. Together, residents can enjoy a rich blend of nature, culture, and community-centered fun.

Danville:

Offers accessible parks for hiking, biking, and picnicking, as well as seasonal festivals and shopping in both downtown and retail districts, Danville is a vibrant hub for recreation and connection.

Decatur, Forsyth, and Mt Zion:

Offers a wide range of leisure and recreational activities that make these communities vibrant, enjoyable places to live. Numerous Parks, Lake Decatur, the Forest Preserve, attract the outdoors enthusiasts and encourage opportunities for picnics and walks, and hikes.

Lincoln:

Offers a quiet, community-focused community for those who enjoy small town living with some great community events and opportunities. Most notable is the Square, in the heart of town is the Logan County Courthouse, a stately building surrounded by a traditional town square filled with local shops, cafes, and historic buildings for the residents of Lincoln to enjoy.

Monticello:

Offers a vibrant small-town look and feel and is often described as a a high-quality "bedroom community" for those working in nearby Champaign-Urbana or Decatur. It offers a unique mix of rural charm, historical attractions, and modern health and educational facilities. The crown jewel of Monticello is its expansive park system, which provides ample space for hiking, biking, and quiet reflection.

Robinson and Oblong

Offers a peaceful and supportive environment a with a variety of recreational opportunities and community activities that make small-town living both enjoyable and engaging. Of note is the community support of local high school sporting events, holiday celebrations, and development of inclusive parks and activities.

 ALL DFI CILA homes are supported by local or nearby Community Day Service facilities that are designed to promote independence, skill development, and community inclusion for those they serve.
